On Jewish Women's Prayer and Its Unique Connotation: A Study Based on Jewish Woman’ s Prayer Book
Abstract
In Judaism, prayer is an important means to establish link between human and God, through which the Jews express their wishes to God, and therefore, to get spiritual consolation. Although Jewish women did not play an important role in the public religious domain, their prayers play a vital role in the Jewish family life, education and intergenerational succession of religion. This paper examines Jewish women s prayer and its unique connotation with Jewish Women s Prayer Book as a main source. This study provides a special perspective for us to understand Jewish women s religious life and their contribution in passing Jewish cultural heritage.
